In what turned out to be a very unorthodox campaign roll out DeSantis shows that he is hip with the latest in technologies. Playing on peoples nostalgia for the early days of the internet he fired up Windows on an old Compaq PC tower, dialed into his 56k modem, launched CompuServe (he ran out of free AOL minutes) and went into an old Yahoo Voice Chat room to announce he is running for President.
Met with mixed reactions after having major glitches and sound issues, he insists that this was all on purpose and just a retro tribute to the old days of the Internet. Elon Musk blames the CompuServe connection as Twitter was also receiving the same glitches on the simulcast on Twitter Spaces.

With the blunder behind them, DeSantis looks forward to his next announcement, which will be made on CB radio. Closer to the election day he will host a Townhall meeting, and debate live streamed on Camfrog video chat.
