Adobe Changes User Agreement Banning Alterations Of Unlicensed Images In Photoshop

By Nathan Jones

Area man becomes first person to actually read the user agreement that we all just clicked agree to. In doing so he has passed on what he found. Among the things that caught his eye was the fact that you now have to give access to the images you create to Adobe. What exactly does this entail? Do they own your product or are they trying to teach AI? Some likened the move to the hammer maker owning the rights to a statue it was used to make.

“This analogy doesn’t work. Removing the head from one statue and pasting it to another statue doesn’t make you a sculptor.”

-Adobe

Adobe clapped back and sited another change in agreement buried even deeper than we initially read. We were astonished to see that now in the new agreement you are not allowed to use photoshop to change images you do not own. All images involved in a photoshop from backgrounds to face swaps need to be 100% created by you. Any use of existing pictures on google images or any site that you do not have the express rights to will be banned. Much like YouTube seeks out copy written music or content, Adobe will use algorithms to ban when copyright detected. If your grandma wants a photoshopped image of herself in front of the Eiffel Tower, that image of the tower must be taken from her phones camera.

Content creators and hacks alike are outraged by the move sighting first amendment rights. Many are filing lawsuits on both sides of the issue as we type. We will keep you posted as this develops.
